The short version

• UNBG removes backgrounds inside your browser. Your images, the cut-outs and their filenames are never sent to us or to anyone else.
• Your browser downloads the website and the AI model. Those downloads contain no image data.
• Your browser can cache the AI model for later visits; updates or cleared storage may require another download. It may also remember simple settings such as your last background colour. It never stores your images.
• UNBG does not use analytics.
• The image-processing app sets no cookies. A restricted test preview uses access-login cookies.
• The app has no product account. A restricted preview's access provider can hold tester login details; emails you send us are handled as correspondence.

1. Your images are processed on your device

When you choose an image, your browser reads it from your device and processes it in the browser tab, using an AI model that runs locally.

• We never receive your images. Source images, decoded pixels, masks, results and filenames are not sent to UNBG's servers, to analytics or to error-reporting services.
• Images stay in memory only. While you work, your image is held in the tab's memory. UNBG does not write images or results to browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or Cache Storage).
• Closing the tab ends it. When you remove an image, choose another one or close the tab, the image is released from memory.
• Downloads are yours. When you download a PNG or ZIP, your browser saves it wherever it normally saves downloads. We never see it.
• No image links. UNBG does not accept image web addresses, so it never fetches images from other websites for you.

2. What your browser requests, and what those requests contain

Using any website means your browser makes network requests. These are UNBG's, and what each one contains.

2.1 Website files

Your browser downloads UNBG's pages, styles, scripts and icons from unbg.me. Like every web request, these reveal technical information to the server that answers them: your IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time.

The proposed beta setup uses a CPU-only static origin on a Proxmox guest still to be approved, withCloudflare, Inc. delivering files through its edge and Tunnel service. The origin and Cloudflare can receive request metadata, but neither needs your photos to process them. Cloudflare handles request information under itsprivacy policy. A restricted preview also uses Cloudflare Access: its login layer may record tester identity and access events. The actual host and logging settings must be confirmed before public release.

2.2 AI model files

The first time you remove a background, your browser downloads the AI engine and model files (about 142 MB (about 113 MB in compatibility mode)) from unbg.me (the same site). These requests ask for fixed files; a restricted preview can require authentication for them. They never include your image or any information about it.

2.3 Analytics

UNBG does not use analytics. No analytics scripts are loaded and no usage events are sent.

2.4 Nothing else

UNBG loads no advertising, no social-media widgets, no third-party fonts and no third-party scripts.

3. What is stored in your browser

UNBG stores a few things in your browser, all on your device and never on our servers.

UNBG never stores your images, results, masks or filenames in any of these.

The image-processing app sets no cookies. On an invitation-only preview, the access provider can set authentication cookies so your browser can open the page and download protected model files. Those cookies authenticate access; they do not contain your image. Public-site cookies and security features must be checked against the final hosting configuration.

4. Error messages and diagnostics

If something goes wrong, UNBG shows a message and a short diagnostic code that describes the kind of problem, for example the browser engine and the error category. The code contains no image data, filenames or personal information. It is only sent to us if you choose to copy it into an email.

5. If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write or attach. We use it only to reply and to fix problems. Please don't attach images you consider private: UNBG never needs them to help you. We keep support emails for [support email retention period: to be confirmed] and then delete them.

6. Children

UNBG is a general-purpose tool that collects no personal information through the app itself. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).

7. Your rights

The image-processing app has no product account and does not receive your images. The hosting and protected-access services can still hold request or login records, and we receive correspondence you send voluntarily. 8. Changes to this policy

If we change how UNBG handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect. Material changes, such as enabling analytics or changing where model files come from, will also be noted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
